Orishas is not merely a group. It is the most prestigious act to emerge from contemporary Cuban music. They sound like no one else, for they created a sound that did not exist: a fusion of rap with the soul of *son*, of the Afro-Cuban drum with urban lyricism. *TIME* called them "the perfect bridge between Cuban heritage and global hip-hop". *The New York Times* described them as a "sonic revolution with roots." *Rolling Stone*, Le Monde*, Billboard* and El País* all agreed: Orishas changed history.
