DEVIN TOWNSEND

With a career spanning more than four decades and countless musical genres, Devin Townsend has earned cult status in the world of progressive metal thanks to his polymorphous talent and constant ability to push the boundaries.

In 2025, after a career marked by iconic performances at the Royal Albert Hall and multiple world tours, Townsend announced an indefinite hiatus from touring. After the world premiere in Groningen of the live version of The Moth, his most ambitious work to date, it was natural to feel the need for a break. Townsend returned home to finalise the studio version of The Moth.

"The creation of this album took me on a journey of personal exploration. This opportunity to get back out on the road, to tell my story with renewed clarity, to celebrate the whole of my musical catalogue across different projects (and the stories that go with them), also offers a chance to reconnect with the audience that made it all possible, while doing what I love: playing music. I've been told that The Moth feels like the work of a lifetime, and I agree - even if that lifetime no longer exists. Entering this new life is now my path, and these concerts are an introduction to it."

This new state of mind should appeal to a legion of loyal fans around the world, who will have the opportunity to see Devin Townsend perform a wide range of tracks from his 31 studio albums, spanning his various artistic projects, including Punky Brüster, Casualties of Cool, Devin Townsend Project and the iconic band Strapping Young Lad.

The Metamorphosis solo tour offers a rare and unfiltered opportunity to see Devin Townsend live on stage. True to form, the artist promises the unexpected, with a varied setlist evolving each night, as well as a few surprises along the way.
